This week we asked our amazing staff here at Sportsnet, when travelling do they choose to take a backpack or suitcase? Why?
Sarah – Suitcase – I would not feel comfortable with backpack although I have never tried
Ornella – Samsonite all the way!
Ian – Backpack……..easier to carry
Craig – I backpacked for 6 years. Whilst it was the time of my life I don’t intend strapping one on my back again. Suitcase for me
Adrian – Backpack definitely. Worry less with those baggage handlers!!
Daniel – I’m 35, suitcase!
Rebecca – Suitcase! Suitcase screams Holiday while backpack screams backpacker Hostels
David – Depends on the trip. If you’re planning on getting around via trains, buses etc then backpack it but if it’s a single destination or you’re flying everywhere, a suitcase is fine
Brooke – Depends where I’m going. Backpack if I’m on and off trains etc. Suitcase if I’m travelling in style
Amelia – Either.. depends on where you are going
Casey – A suitcase – i couldn’t fit enough into a backpack! But I will always pack an empty satchel or backpack in my luggage so that I can use it while I’m away and it doubles as hand luggage on the way home
Rob – Suitcase, my back-packing days are over!
Sue – Suitcase as it’s so much easier on your back, unless you are backpacking of course!!
What’s your preference? Backpack or suitcase and why?
This is such a great idea so I’m sure it won’t be long until we see this offered in cities across the world, but in Madrid, it’s all happening now.
Pad in the City is an ingenious service where you can rent an iPad while in Madrid but they’ve made it all as easy as possible for you. You can book through their website, just choose the dates and let them know where they can hand the iPad to you, pop in your email address and pay with Paypal. Then voila! They deliver the iPad to you! Of course you need to hand over ID and the usual stuff that goes along with the rental of any piece of equipment, but it’s still so easy.
One of the best things is it also comes chock full of apps to “make your stay in Madrid a superior experience” including Metro Madrid, Lonely Planet Madrid, Audio Guides and Wikipanion just to name a few.
