THE NRL’s verdict on stripping two premierships and future premiership points off the Melbourne Storm is the worst thing that can happen to rugby league in Victoria.
The League has fought hard to secure a presence in AFL heartland since the introduction of the Storm in their history making debut season in 1999.
Now it has to salvage what it has left with Storm fans expected to snub games this season with no consequence on the teams’ win-loss ratio following a $1.7 million salary cap breach over five years.
